A distinctive volunteer campaign, supervised by the Libyan Ministry of Social Affairs, was launched on April 15th, organized by the National Center for the Diagnosis and Treatment of Autistic Children. The International University (LIMU) is actively participating through its students and staff, in a framework of reinforcing its social responsibility and support for volunteer work. The campaign will continue for one week.
Its goal is to support autistic children and their families through a series of volunteer tasks, such as entering beneficiary data into the electronic system and interacting directly with the children to help them develop their skills.
Ms. Wahiba Al-Hassi, Director of the Community Responsibility and Sustainability Department at the International University, confirmed the University’s keenness to ensure the campaign’s success by mobilizing the efforts of its student and administrative volunteers. This reflects LIMU’s commitment to its developmental and social role and to establishing the values of giving and cooperation in the community. She also noted that this initiative is an opportunity for students to gain practical and human experience through direct engagement in important social issues.
While we commend the outstanding efforts of the International University’s members in this campaign, we specifically highlight Mr. Mu’ayyad Al-Dawakhi, the Community Responsibility Coordinator at the College of Engineering and Information Technology. He is the leader of the volunteer team in the campaign and continues his volunteer work with dedication and sincerity with the campaign until next Tuesday.
