Distinguished Participation by Community Responsibility and Sustainability

The Community Responsibility and Sustainability Department at the International University (LIMU) participated in the activities of the 38th Al-Zahrat (Brownies/Girl Scouts) Summer Camp. This participation is part of the fruitful cooperation with the Benghazi Commissionerate for Scouts and Girl Guides and the team from the Libyan Medical Society for Nutrition and Food Science (LMSNFS).

During this activity, educational and awareness sessions are being presented to the girls (Al-Zahrat) on proper healthy nutrition and the food pyramid.

Competitions were also organized for the girls to introduce them to the principles of healthy eating and to emphasize the importance of food safety. Moreover, the girls’ teams prepared a model of the food pyramid that they constructed in each group.

This participation, which is part of the morning program for the 38th annual Al-Zahrat Summer Camp involving 800 girls, aims to contribute to increasing the girls’ awareness of a healthy diet and promoting their practices for proper nutrition. This is achieved through educational sessions and interactive competitions suitable for their age group, enabling the girls to understand the importance of the food pyramid and to distinguish between healthy and unhealthy foods.

The participation of the Community Responsibility Department and the accompanying team will continue until tomorrow, Tuesday, contributing to enhancing health awareness among the girls and encouraging them to adopt sound eating habits. This initiative falls under the joint efforts of the International University and the Benghazi Commissionerate to provide a safe and healthy environment for the girls and to qualify them to be active and responsible members of their community.
