“Al-Dawliya” Explores Mechanisms for Implementing Sustainability Projects with Its Partners

On the morning of Saturday, January 17, 2026, a broad meeting was held at the National Unity Hall, bringing together the Agency for Social Responsibility and Sustainability with several civil society institutions with which memoranda of cooperation had been signed in recent days.

The meeting was chaired by Prof. Dr. Ali Saeed Al-Barghathi, Vice President of the University for Social Responsibility and Sustainability, with the attendance of Ms. Waheba Al-Hassi, Director of the Department of Social Responsibility and Sustainability, Dr. Nora Naseeb, Director of the Department of Environment and Sustainability, along with representatives of partner institutions, including:

  • Mr. Tarek Al-Zleitni, Commissioner General of Benghazi Scouts and Guides.
  • Mr. Mohamed Jaouda, Chairman of the Board of Hope Makers Foundation.
  • Mr. Riyad Al-Houni, Chairman of the Board of Youth Voluntary Work Organization.
  • Coordinators of social responsibility and sustainability at the university’s faculties, and community service commissioners from the Benghazi Scouts Commission.

In his welcoming remarks, the Vice President praised the tireless efforts and active role played by civil society organizations in serving and developing the community. He emphasized that this meeting represents a practical step toward activating the signed memoranda of understanding and exploring mechanisms for implementing joint projects aimed at creating a sustainable impact that addresses the real needs of society, in line with the university’s goals of enhancing effective communication and community engagement.

Ms. Waheba Al-Hassi presented an overview of the sustainability projects being implemented by the Agency this year, based on its strategic objectives that reinforce developmental and community projects with lasting impact.

The meeting also discussed the implementation plans for upcoming joint projects and ways to exchang expertise to enhance quality and strengthen institutional capacity for both parties, ensuring the achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals adopted by the university in its 2024–2030 strategic plan.
