As part of its continuous efforts to consolidate its role as a scientific beacon with national responsibility, the Community Responsibility and Sustainability Agency at the Libyan International Medical University held its regular monthly meeting for February 2026 at the “National Unity” Hall, chaired by Professor Dr. Ali Saeed Al-Barghathi, Vice President for Community Responsibility and Sustainability.
The meeting witnessed broad participation, including Ms. Waheba Al-Hassi, Director of the Community Responsibility Department, Dr. Nora Naseeb, Director of the Environment and Sustainability Department, the Head of Coordination, and community responsibility coordinators from various faculties (Medical and Health Sciences, Humanities and Social Sciences, and Engineering and Information Technology).
Dr. Al-Barghathi emphasized that these efforts come in implementation of the university’s strategic objectives, which place “community responsibility” at the heart of its institutional mission, aiming to achieve sustainable programs that serve society. The meeting also included a thorough review of the mechanisms for implementing the strategic plan for the academic year 2025–2026. Ms. Al-Hassi presented the programs and projects already accomplished according to the approved plan, as well as those currently underway.
In a gesture reflecting the university’s commitment to engaging with its social environment, the Vice President stressed the importance of activating joint work with relevant civil society organizations. He gave direct instructions to:
- Intensify humanitarian and volunteer programs aimed at serving vulnerable groups.
- Launch distinctive initiatives during the holy month of Ramadan to promote solidarity and volunteerism among students and staff.
The meeting concluded with a reaffirmation that the Libyan International Medical University does not limit itself to providing distinguished academic education, but also strives to be an active partner in social development through sustainable environmental and humanitarian projects that embody the university’s values and future vision.
